Two * 4 pointers on the first 9 then an Eagle on the 16th giving Peter 5 points, the second shot played from the rough on the right hand side of the fairway. Dennis Cooper and I where in the same group as Peter. I suggested that I could do an on course handicap adjustment (outside of guidelines but no matter) but this suggestion was met with a polite refusal. Good one Peter !
Today we played a single stableford with a field of 70. Once again I played just after 8 - brisk, icy but not so cold, excellent company.
We had 8 visitors in the competition. From Ashlar, Antill Park & Camden.
The winner today,
Brian Hanrahan(11) with a score of 42.
Runner Up Bill Morton (31) score 39
Nevill Ridge - nearest the pin on the 11th
Nearest the Pin on the 14th - Brian Hanrahan
Brian Hanrahan $156
for only $3
Dame Nellie Melba & Sir John Monash smile upon Brian.
Great odds.

More good news.
We had 135 people on the course today, more visitors than members. Tomorrow we have around 95 booked. We'll be discussing how to accomodate these visitors and also get the field in earlier. The light at the end of the day is diminishing so we'll develop a plan that will involve change but it will be for the better.
It seems that the club's fortunes are turning around for the better. This is due you - the members, accepting the changes and making allowances where there must be. To guarantee the same financial results that we have had in previous years all we have to do is to do the same thing the same way. We are not doing that. Things are changing for the better and all credit to our members. The results look like they are improving dramatically.
They are great pies - no further comment.
Below are some photos from Friday night.
An Evening at the Club. Bookings sold out in three days. A 'Sydney Morning Herald' hatted chief was in the kitchen. The Phatt Duck was supervising. | |
Just a note - I (and there are others also) prefer that we have a quiet audience during presentations - it's not parliament - we're gentlemen. (please take no offence).
all the best gentlemen
