Bruce-Smith Cup.
On Saturday we had the annual match against fellow highland's club Moss Vale. The Challenge Cup - the trophy's actual title - was originally donated in 1938 by Mr Verton H. Bruce-Smith, a Bowral resident, and has been contested between the two clubs since. Moss Vale won the event in 2010, 9-4 and today Bowral narrowly escaped victory with a 3 - 2 loss. Moss Vale sent 5 teams of 2 and the event was played in beautiful weather. Bacon and egg rolls provided an early lunch and tee off started at 11:20 with the first team of Christian Wood and Paul De Leeuw against Brian Hanrahan and me. Christian and Paul played a standard of golf that assured their victory. Christian is off scratch and has been the Moss Vale A Grade champion for the last three years. He drove pin high on the 13th (268 metres) and his approach shots throughout the round were fantastic. It was a great day and we finished off in the clubhouse with some Phatt Duck Pies and refreshments. Well done Moss Vale.
That's all for now gentlemen.
