Today's field was 58 with 1 visitor.
The event was the 'STROKE PLAY TROPHY - ROUND 2'.
Temperatures in Bowral peaked at 16 degs. I played at 9.00 with John Jones and at the 14th briefly (and proudly) held the Pro Pin. I was preparing my acceptance speech but sadly it wasn't required. Such is life. A normal round's competition fee is $12 - we pay this anyway. For an additional $3 we get the chance at the Pro Pin prize which normally is somewhere around $100-$170.
By the way - the event for next Wednesday has been changed to a single stableford - from a stroke round AND Brian Lamb tells me this will probably be his come-back round, returning from sick leave.
Bill Metcalf may venture out next Saturday in a cart on the course, watching with Neville R. and John Jones.
Pip Smith - gentleman golfer, has been selected to be one of 30 Australians to attend a Lancaster Memorial event in the UK. Pip, as we all know, is a truly inspirational person. Congratulations Pip.
The 'I can feel the change' type feeling is palpable and real.
Lastly, before going to the results, today for lunch I had the Pork and Fennel Sausages with the Caramelised Onions. I say nothing more but read on. Tomorrow I have been invited to the Dad's Army lunch at the club, thank you Hamish and troops. I'll have the Pork and Fennel Sausages with the Caramelised Onions again.
