Bowral Golf Club course plays tough but fair for 2011 Jubilee Cup
Under glorious, autumnal Southern Highlands skies, and on a golf course presented in stunning condition, 60 players competed for the 2011 Jubilee Cup which is an official Vardon Event.
The Bowral Golf Club is only 5406m long with a par 69. The course and greens were presented in immaculate condition but scoring was very difficult for what was an elite amateur field.
The gross stroke average for the field was 80.8 and even top players with
handicaps up to 4 averaged 77.1 or 8 strokes over par. The field included seven players with handicaps of scratch or better.
The best gross rounds for the day were a pair of 70s by Christopher Akers (0) and Michael Gerstenberg (-2). Justin Warren (6) fired a 75 nett 69 to win the handicap event.
