We have very limited practice facilities on our course. This is a fact and something we have more or less come to terms with over the years. The designated practice areas are from the mats at the back of the pro shop, the area in front of the croquet green hitting down between the 1st and 18th fairways and our chipping green plus our practice putting green. Just lately I have seen members practising outside these areas and in some cases chipping and putting onto the course greens. I have to ask any guilty parties to cease and desist, our greens are out of bounds for pactice and are too fragile for this sort of activity. In other words respect your course and do the right thing!

Our course is only 5406m long. During our recent Jubilee Cup in a field of 60 players which included some of the States elite amateurs not one could break par.
Gary Player recently said;
" From Timbuktu to Washington D.C. to Augusta, everyone made their golf courses longer. Why? We wasted hundreds of millions of dollars."
while decrying the effects of modern architecture - lengthened layouts requiring more water and maintenance - and how they have made golf more expensive.
Our course is OK the way it is. It doesn't have to be any longer. But by the same token we don't want it any shorter.
