Please add the time of completion to your card (that's the time when the group walks off the 18th green). The starting time sheet from last Wednesday is shown below. This is the sheet that the scores are entered on as the cards are received and checked off against the computer scoring system. In the left hand column is the starting time and next to it is a handwritten time - that is the time taken for the round. This time has been calculated from the completion time written on the score card by the marker. (at the moment less than half of players are entering the time on the card). As can been seen a time of around 4 hours is the norm but there are exceptions.
Please keep up with the group in front. This instruction has been on our score cards for years as slow groups and players have been an issue for years.
If a group is, for example, the first group off in a schedule where there is not a group in front, then every effort must be made to keep up with a good pace of play. The 5th should be complete in 1 hour ( or under) and the first 9 in 2 hours (or under). The lowest handicap player in the group should take note and keep the pace of play up. If the group behind is waiting on hole after hole then it is a very clear indication that the group in front is not keeping up the pace. Complaints about slow play are endemic in golf clubs and have been the case at Bowral for years. Please keep up a good pace of play
