At the same time the pond on the 2nd is being cleaned out, the open waterway across the 16th between the small bridge and the big bridge, will be converted to an ephemeral waterway, i.e. a pipe will be put in to carry the normal run off. The waterway will be filled over the pipe to make it a swale - or a mow-through. This will have the advantage that once it is grassed balls will be easier to find in this area making play quicker and easier and carts will be able to drive through it, progressing down the 16th rather than crossing over the 16th to be in a potential dangerous spot from balls driven off the 3rd. So in the end this will be like the converted hazard on the 16th.
Major General Michael Jeffrey and Mrs Marlena Jeffrey honour us with their presence that day as they have in previous years, showing their continued support for our day in aid of this worthy charity.
