Wednesday's comp was a single stableford with a field of 57 players. The winner Alan Lindsay (18) score 42 R/U Geoff Meere (32) score 40 c/b Ball winners - last ball determined by a c/b Renovations. Renovations on the green were due to be started on the 17th September but were brought forward to today. Damian and his staff will be following the ladies competition around. The reason they were brought forward is the high risk of rain. You may remember that the renovations were delayed by many weeks because of the rain in the autumn. The process of rejuvenating the greens involves coring the greens, clearing the cored material and then sanding them. This time Damian will be using a better technique using a blower to evenly distribute the sand rather than a mat that has been used in previous years. This should result in a better and quicker recovery. As a consequence of this the medal round will be delayed until the 20th of October. The two putt rule will also be in force for the next week. We'll review it after that.
